Great Circle is my book of the year...
Come and meet its author, Maggie Shipstead, at the Noon Book Club.
I am so excited that Noon is hosting Maggie Shipstead for our September book club. Her novel, Great Circle, is a truly epic read following the story of a woman who finally becomes the person she has always wanted to be. It has love and drama, great writing, early aviation, a window into a frontier world I didn’t know about and a truly remarkable heroine. If you haven’t read it, make sure it is by your sun lounger this August!
Because Great Circle is definitely on the chunky side, we are sending out copies for our September Noon Book Club chat with Maggie simultaneously with those who want our August book, The Herd. Written by the critically acclaimed Emily Edwards, The Herd is also brilliant – a great topical page-turner about vaccination and how a small lie can ruin a friendship and so much more. The two books will keep you gripped, we promise!
If you sign up to become a paid subscriber to Noon you can get both books for free (and a free copy of our book club book every month from now on). We just put your name and address on our special paid subscriber list (you’ll receive the form in the confirmation email that comes after you subscribe), and Penguin sends you a free copy.
Queenagers are a key part of the book market, and the best way to sell books is through word-of-mouth buzz which is why Penguin/Transworld support our Noon Book Club. You don’t have to be a paid subscriber to attend the actual book club, it’s free, just sign up at the Noon Eventbrite, and you’ll be sent the Zoom link. Emily Edwards and The Herd is at 7 pm on August 31st, and Maggie Shipstead and Great Circle is on September 22nd at 7 pm.
(Note: you only get the books free and sent to you if you are a paid subscriber. And you also get lots of other juicy free stuff and invitations to my talks and access to our members-only Noon Circle monthly discussion group.)
At Noon Book Club we talk about the book but in the context of bigger Queenager and midlife themes – we welcome questions from the audience. It is very friendly and interactive. If you haven’t tried it yet – come and join us!
Love,
Eleanor
